How to Advance Your Career Despite a Slow Economy

Brent Marinaccio (brent@hotlinuxjobs.com)

This session will focus on how an open source developer can actually advance their career in this slow economy. Even though there is contraction in most sectors of the economy, there are bright spots in employment opportunities in open source software. Brent will focus on the key areas that will benefit your career: importance of open source contributions; the natural networking opportunities afforded by doing open source development; and, the benefits of rounding out ones skill set. Wherever your interest lies within open source software, Brent encourages you to join him for this interactive session. He will provide participants with the latest trends he is witnessing in the open source employment sector.
