Linux Symposium

We experienced a bit of an emergency migration to a new server and are working on getting our content back on-line. We are sorry for the interruption of services. The site is fairly complex to get set-up and at the moment we just do not have the resources to be able to do so.

By request here is a link to the 2014 Linux Symposium Proceedings in PDF.

Our Plea to the Community for Assistance

We are also at the moment running an emergency fund raising campaign over at Indiegogo in an attempt to recover from the losses incurred during the year the event was in Montreal and we had to commit to space in advance only to have the economy collapse prior to the event. We have been trying to pay down the losses ever since, and because they are secured debt we do not have other options but to reach out to the community for assistance.

Here are some things former attendees have had to say about our efforts: Jon maddog Hall had some nice things to say about our openness to new contributions from the community, Matt Domsch has some amazing things to say about the event as well. If you have something to add we would love to hear from you as well, just send us a link to your article or blog posting info@linuxsymposium.org.

The losses amount to around $20 for every attendee who has been to the event over the years; but they're currently being paid by the organizer and the interest payments have made things very difficult to make any progress on. If you see value in the work done over the last 15 years for the community please do consider a small contribution to help out so that he can move on and begin to recover himself. The current campaign runs until September 24th, 2014. Thank you.
